Penrith Ladies Luncheon Club is for ladies who have a keen interest in learning and developing friendships at the same time as enjoying a good lunch in pleasant surroundings.
For over 50 years, the group has met monthly between September and May at the George Hotel, but this year transferred the venue to the esteemed Roundthorn Country House, where we have been most welcomed.
Our luncheons are not just about food and company, they are a gateway to a world of knowledge. We bring in a variety of speakers, each with a unique passion or professional expertise, to cover a broad range of topics from arts to science, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
So, as well as a chance to enjoy excellent company, superb food and lively conversation, there is an opportunity for each member to broaden their horizons by learning ‘something new’.
During July there is also an opportunity for members and their friends to take part in an excursion to a place of interest linked to one of the talks that was given during the season. .
The membership fee covers running the club, hiring the speakers and the lunch venue. The lunches, for the month members opt to attend, are paid for on the day.
Members may join at any time during the year; the subscription rate is adjusted according to whether they subscribe for the whole year, i.e. Sept-May: £22, or join in the second part of the year, i.e. January – May: £15.
