Heather first of all cover a little history about teddy bears and move on to providing information about how they are used to provide comfort and alleviate distress. She will have examples of the knitted teddies for people to see and copies of the knitting patterns that can be used to make them.

Heather learned how to knit from the age of 4 ‘at her grandmother’s knee’. She progressed from knitting cotton dishcloths to making children’s and grandchildren’s clothes and eventually to knitting teddies. There is always someone who can find a home for a knitted teddy and at the moment Ukraine is a particularly needy area.
