The talk will explain how the life of a swift is unique, why they are declining and what can be done about the situation.

Richard is a retired veterinary surgeon who came to Carlisle in 1974 and stayed ever since-even marrying a Penrith girl!  Richard ran a small holding for 30 years. He joined the North Cumbria RSPB local group when it was first established in 1976. He is currently the secretary/group leader of this group. He is a Volunteer at Geltsdale  where his activities include harrier protection.  Richard is now a member of the Penrith Swift Group giving talks about these birds to raise funds for their support.
