Deck The Halls
Eden Baroque will perform a selection of festive songs and instrumental music from times past.
Performed by Eden Baroque- Michael Sanderson baritone, baroque violin & viola and Katharine May harpsichord.
Katharine and Michael established Eden Baroque shortly after moving to Cumbria in 2017 with the aim of bringing well-known and less performed baroque chamber music to as wide an audience as possible. Their first concert in Great Salkeld was followed by performances in Keswick, Askham Hall, Patterdale Church, Hutton-in-the-Forest and with the Herdwyck Consort in Kirkby Stephen. They have twice appeared on BBC Radio Cumbria’s ‘Arty Show’ and have given a feature interview to Cumbria Life magazine. They recorded their first CD with the guitarist Ian Gammie, before making their Christmas CD ‘Christmas in Eden’ in 2021. In February 2026 they tutored their fourth baroque chamber music course at Higham Hall, Bassenthwaite Lake, and have given a joint concert with the Penrith Singers as well as performances for Alnwick, Aberfoyle, Hawick, Lanark and Grimsby Music Clubs, and at Tatham Fells Beetham, The Heron Theatre and the Shaftesbury Festival of Baroque. Concerts in their own Music Rom just outside Great Salkeld are attracting an ever-widening and appreciative audience, and they have recently been selected as Recommended Artists by Making Music for the next two seasons.
